CLOSING SEASON
Yauheni Hlushan
& Ilya Sprindzhuk
The Mochnarte Foundation invites you to attend the final event of this year, featuring the participation of artists Yauheni Hlushan and Ilya Sprindzhuk. It has been our inaugural year of operation, and we can assertively declare it as both productive and eventful. We have successfully organized five public events, forged collaborations with diverse Belarusian projects, facilitated workspace, and welcomed numerous guests. This Sunday, on November 19th, we cordially invite you to join us in reflecting on the outcomes of this year and engaging in a discussion about our future plans.
Presentation of the Yauheni Hlushan project moderated by Lesia Pcholka and artist talk with Ilya Sprindzhuk, moderated by Gleb Burnashev.

Yauheni Hlushan is currently implementing a research project supported by The Mieroszewski Center. Field and research trips to the region have been conducted, as well as the creation of polychrome in the form of an ornamental strip in one of Mohnart's houses based on the research. The artist from Belarus is building a dialogue with Niuta Korniluk, an artist of the Belarusian minority from Podlasie, who has created a mural on another wall. The painting incorporates motifs from Yauheni's native village and from the region where the residence is located, illustrating the connections and intertwining of stories that are now distant but, at the same time, so close to each other. On Sunday, Yauheni Hlushan will present the results of his project.
Ilya Sprindzhuk developed a sculpture project called Giants, with which I recently held an artistic intervention during Warsaw Gallery Weekend. As part of his collaboration with Mochnarte, he would like to develop this project and give it the scope he originally envisioned: creating a photography project in a Belarusian village, creating several new sculptures and refining their contextual content and form. This project is also a means of de-mythologizing contemporary socio-cultural and political events, as well as a way of giving voice to the young Belarusian art to which he belong, showing its deep connection to the culture of Belarus.
