LISTEN TO ME, YOU ISLANDS!
Lena Davidovich
Last years Lena Davidovich was working and researching the topic of crisis or ‘borderline’ is situations. The research was resulted in the work ‘Rise up, My Love!’, where Lena performs song in Belarusian language, trying to address her home country Belarus and speak out a positive outcome to a current crisis in Belarus. In her work the theme of crisis is presented not just a moment of collapse but also as an opening towards new opportunities and perspectives.
In the residency Mochnarte artist continue her search on ‘border’ places & situations. She also started research on local songs, sounds and traditions. This study will be shown in a new project ‘Listen to me, you islands!’ (Слухайце мяне, выспы!), that she started in the residency.

Lena Davidovich's work is autobiographical, although she has chosen not to tell her personal stories, but already existing ones, which I retell in my own way. The situations that attract her attention are usually cases of tension, moments between life and death, annoying situations. Davidovichs believe that in times of exhaustion, when physical and mental limits are tested, a person can undergo an emotional and psychological transformation.
