SCIENTIFIC MEASUREMENTS OF  TREES IN THE BIAŁOWIEŻA FOREST

Olga Kisseleva

Artist Olga Kisseleva, together with her scientific partner Christophe Petiot and curator Olga Klip, worked at the Mochnarte residency to carry out scientific measurements of local endemic trees in the Białowieża Forest. Using these measurements, they aimed to gather data that will later be presented in exhibitions in both Poland and France.

This work is part of the EDEN project, which Olga has been leading since 2012. It seeks to use art and technological innovation to renew conventional approaches to ecological and environmental issues. Its main challenge is to highlight the importance of listening in the conservation of the plant world and its recognition as a living, communicating being. In concrete terms, this means collecting data on trees and making it visible to the general public.
