DIARY OF TEARS
Tasha Katsuba
For a year, artist Tasha Katsuba took photos of herself crying and recorded the date of each moment to document her condition. The project is called "Diary of Tears". It is about caring, about not devaluing your emotions, but trying to reveal and live them. On March 31, a closed presentation of Katsuba’s project took place at the Mochnarte residence.
— “ The main characteristic of my artistic work is its autobiographical nature. If we consider the created pieces, we can clearly trace the connection between the chosen medium and the personal stage of life. In my works, I do not hide my feelings towards the concept.
I adopt a diary-like narrative style and explore the world of human relationships with myself or the viewer. Until 2020, the focus of my creative practice revolved around my own unique self and its relationships within the closest circle of my family, particularly with my parents and our family home.
Besides gradually opening up on a personal level and transforming the experience of these same themes, the unifying element of my artistry lies in the use of diverse materials and the pursuit of blurring the boundaries between artistic forms of expression. ening into a theatrical spectacle and negate the reality of violence. ”
