OPEN CALL 2025
Art Residency in Mochnarte
The Mochnarte Foundation has been active for almost two years. During this time, more than fifty artists, curators, and students have visited our residency, creating remarkable projects. We have supported students in their education and built strong relationships with our residents.
Mochnarte can be considered a successful initiative, yet we have not yet established partnerships with cultural organizations or secured external funding. We remain a fully private project. We welcome our residents as guests: providing accommodation, creating a space for idea exchange, assisting with daily needs, organizing transportation, and, when possible, supplying materials. Occasionally, we commission artworks.
However, we do not provide financial support or meals. Residents are expected to take care of themselves: cooking, cleaning, respecting the environment, sorting waste, and maintaining good relationships with others.
Our living conditions are simple but fair. We live in a rural setting, where flies, mosquitoes, mice, cats, and dogs are part of everyday life.
As an institution, we can support our residents with invitation letters for visas, participate in grant programs (non-financially), and issue certificates and recommendation letters.
We prefer short-term residencies (up to two weeks) but are open to repeat visits if necessary to complete a project. We recommend visiting us in advance to understand our opportunities and limitations.
Invite Your Artist Friend
This year, we are launching the "Invite Your Artist Friend" program. Recommend people you know, spread the word to those who might be interested. You can visit together or separately, work independently or collaborate on projects. You are also welcome to bring companions and pets (as long as they get along well with our dogs).
