Art Residency in Mochnarte

Mochnarte Foundation, established in 2022, is a fully private initiative creating a space for contemporary artists from Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, and other countries. Over the past three years, the residency has hosted more than 50 participants, and the foundation has organized over 10 exhibitions and 18 public events. Mochnarte supports emerging artists, curators, and cultural practitioners, strengthening the independent cultural ecosystem of the region and fostering cross-border solidarity.
The foundation aims to rebuild connections where they have been disrupted, supporting artists forced to leave their homes and countries. The residency offers a safe space for creative work, dialogue, and rest, while also encouraging professional development through collaboration and the exchange of experience. Mochnarte develops partnerships with cultural centers, non-governmental organizations, and international curators, creating opportunities for cultural exchange.
We invite artists, curators, and creative practitioners to participate in the residency in Podlasie (Poland). The foundation welcomes residents as guests, providing accommodation and workspace, as well as assistance with everyday and organizational matters. Financial support is not provided; however, the foundation offers administrative support, including visa invitation letters, certificates, and recommendation letters, and assists in finding mobility grants. We prefer short-term residencies (up to two weeks) but are open to repeat visits if necessary.
Mochnarte is open to collaboration with artists working on social and migration-related themes. Special attention is given to artists in exile, while local creators from Podlasie are also supported. The foundation follows principles of non-discrimination and equal treatment for all participants, regardless of race, national origin, language, citizenship, religion, age, disability, marital status, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
